Liebster Blog Awards

The Liebster Award started around 2011 as a way for bloggers to recognize and encourage new bloggers in the blogging community. It works similar to a chain mail. A nominee can accept the word and continue the chair; or, decline the nomination and stop it continuing. Honestly, I’m all for keeping this chain going. After all, who doesn’t want some recognition and encouragement 🙂

Liebster means beloved or dearest.

I’d seen some blogs around with awards and being the ambitious person that I am, wondered when I’d be able to get one. ha ha ha. To my surprise and great encouragement, Mary at Gallagher Farm and Faith nominated me for this year’s Liebster Award. Thank you, Mary! It was amazing. I felt encouraged and motivated to keep on writing what God lays on my heart.

Liebster Award Q&A

What has been your biggest challenge with blogging?

My biggest challenge as a blogger has been patience. Ok, that’s my biggest challenge in life. I get excited about the future and what God has in store. This causes me to begin to measure my success by the number of page views or comments on a post. I need to be careful I don’t despise the day of small beginnings. Blogging is not an instant success. It requires much patience and hard work.

It takes time to build credibility and rapport with readers. It takes time for Google to rank blog posts and websites, no matter how great your SEO is.  Time is essential to success. So, I am forced to wait and persevere. Success needs to be redefined according to God’s perspective and not quantified in numbers.
What is your number one tip for other bloggers?

Mmmmm this is a good question. Persistence and consistency. Make sure you blog consistently and don’t give up. Sometimes it feels like no one is reading your posts and doubt creeps in. Carry on anyway. Share your story and stick to your vision. In the end, you will see the fruit of your labor. God has a plan for your blog and site, trust him with all your heart to make it happen.
What are your hobbies other than blogging?

My biggest hobby other than blogging is reading. I am a bookworm. Books are the cheapest way to take you into worlds and time zones you wouldn’t normally go. I love the stories, imagery, and immense vocabulary reading gives you. You can learn a lot about yourself and the world around you through reading. The best way to be a great writediscover new blogsr is to be a great reader.

What successful entrepreneur do you admire and why?

I love Kathryn at Alyght. She is a successful business coach to female entrepreneurs. She gets it. Her work is well thought out, challenging, value and inspiring. I find myself encouraged reading her Facebook Group posts and going through her courses. She has a way of helping you believe in yourself and see you as a success.
Who is your favorite blogger and why?

I don’t have a favorite blogger per se. I have read many phenomenal blogs over the past two years. Each of them has inspired, encouraged, and taught me more about God’s heart towards us. Some of my favorite bloggers include

Lynn J Simpson

Poema Chronicles

Alyssa J Howard

Of course, there are many other Christian bloggers I enjoy. It would take a blog post to credit and mention each one of them.
Tell us about your blog and why you started blogging

My blog is all about helping women live in the truth of how fiercely God loves them. I want to help them discover who they are in Christ, their purpose, passion, and gifts. My goal is to take you deeper into God’s heart and presence.

I started blogging in 2015 about midway through my journey of inner healing with God. In this healing process, I got a clearer understanding of the depths of God’s love, his heart, and who he has made me to be. My passion for people to encounter God’s heart was fueled even more. Couple this with my love of writing and Living Fiercely Loved was born (initially as Pen Paper Paint). It didn’t take me long to realize that blogging was a two-way gift. In one way, it was a ministry to women; the other way is that blogging has helped deepen my walk with God as I’ve meditated on Scripture and conversed with the Lord over topics. I’m beyond excited and curious about God’s plans for this blog.
An item you can’t live without

My pillow. I know, it is odd. ha ha ha. My pillow is an orthopedic pillow hubby bought for me to help ease my tension headaches. We realized several years ago that if I sleep with my head to high or too low, I get tension in my neck which leads to tension headaches. My pillow helps support my head and neck while I sleep and eases the tension in my neck. No matter where we go, I need to take my pillow with me.

If we go on vacation or for a weekend away, the pillow comes with or I’m setting myself for about two weeks of headaches and tense shoulders. Not fun at all.

I love my pillow too! And yes, I am impatient too! Today God just said, “would you keep writing even if I was the only one who noticed?” Keep on keepin’ on!
