List of God’s Promises for the New Year

Towards the end of a year, I find myself discussing the new year with God. I want to hear his heart for what is coming. He helps me know what to expect and the outcomes he has in mind for us as a family in each year. I think he often deliberately doesn’t give me all the details of each week or day in my year. Probably, a good thing to as it helps me with my expectations.

Still, I love that each year brings with it a whole lot of focused promises. We can take this list of God’s promises and hold on to them when the year gets tough. They can define our expectations for the year, stir up our faith, and give us hope to hold onto.  Before I get to the list of God’s Promises for this new year, here’s what I believe God is saying over 2018:

Prophetic Word for 2018

Whether its spring, winter, autumn or summer, God uses the seasons to speak to us. Maybe you are like me and your life often mirrors what God is doing in the spiritual. Often, this is called a prophetic life. The prophets of old often lived such lives – think of Hosea and Ezekiel.

For a few weeks I’ve been picking up a lot of spiritual activity in the atmosphere. From excitement to agitation to a letting go of the familiar and the old so God can bring in the new. Over the weekend, God laid one word on my heart which seems to sum it up well:

Pruning!

Pruning means change, letting go, and being laid bare so to speak. Its vulnerability, growth, discomfort, excitement and more all mixed into one.

I believe God wants to encourage you that the changes happening in your life are part of his pruning. He is removing those things that are good to make room for his Great in your life. I believe God is coming alongside you to shift your perception from disappointment and dismay to excitement and hope.

He is stirring up your faith to a new level. He is teaching you to trust him. This trust means believing with every fiber of your being that He is about to do Great and AMAZING things in and through you. God is on the move and He won’t leave you behind. Right now, you are being made ready to move into the new God has for you – the next step of adventure and the abundance he has in store.

2018 is a year of hope, breakthrough and new territory. As you let go of the old (even though its been good), you are making room for the more God has for you. This is going to be a year of answered prayers, fulfilled promises, and new adventures with God. He is increasing your capacity, influence, and reach.

He is not going to disappoint you. Yes, his answers will look different to what you envisioned or expected. In it all, you will experience a greater joy than you’ve ever known. You will look into his eyes and declare him faithful and true.

As you wait for God to bring your breakthrough, answer your prayers, and release you into new territory, do not allow doubt to creep in. Stay steadfast and focused on God. Ignore the voices in the world, the opinions of others, and the voice of the enemy. Hold fast to what God has promised you. Faith is the currency of heaven. As you wait and hold on, Holy Spirit will come to your aid with strength, grace, and healing. He will carry you through those rough patches. You are not alone. Do not believe for one second that you are alone. God is with you, for you, and working victory into your life.

List of God’s promises for 2018

I love how God always supports his prophetic word with scripture. Here are my top six favorite Scripture promises for this year. For the rest of my list, be sure to subscribe to the FREE Resource library:

Isaiah 54: 2-4 (AMP)

“Enlarge the site of your tent [to make room for more children]; Stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, do not spare them; Lengthen your tent ropes And make your pegs (stakes) firm [in the ground]. “For you will spread out to the right and to the left; And your descendants will take possession of nations And will inhabit deserted cities. “Do not fear, for you will not be put to shame, And do not feel humiliated or ashamed, for you will not be disgraced. For you will forget the shame of your youth, And you will no longer remember the disgrace of your widowhood.

Joshua 1:9 (AMP)

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Isaiah 43:18-19 (AMP)

“Do not remember the former things, Or ponder the things of the past. “Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing,
Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.

Psalm 16: 5-6 (AMP)

The Lord is the portion of my inheritance, my cup [He is all I need]; You support my lot. The [boundary] lines [of the land] have fallen for me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.

Psalm 84:11-12 (AMP)

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord bestows grace and favor and honor; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Lord of hosts, How blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You [believing in You, relying on You, and committing himself to You with confident hope and expectation].

2 Peter 3:9 (AMP)

The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
